Suzuki Motor Corporation is a firm Japanese engaged in the manufacture of automobiles compact, a wide range of motorcycles , engines outboard and a variety of products equipped with small combustion engines. Founded in 1909 in the town of Hamamatsu , Japan , by Michio Suzuki .The company was founded in 1908 dedicated to the manufacture of looms with the name of Suzuki Loom Works, but in 1951 the market for cotton collapsed, and the company raises the extension to new products, and decided to revive its production of cars that had begun in 1931 . In 1952 creates a bicycle Motorized which was very popular and in 1954 put on the market a second bike and change the company name to Suzuki Motor Corporation. In 1955 launched the first car mass produced: the Suzulight. In the 1970's and the Fronte modemos Jimny enable increased exports. In 1981 Suzuki reached an agreement with General Motors to meet the growing demand for small cars. With the help of “Isuzu” the “Sprint” for Chevrolet (“Suzuki Cultus” in Japan ) is introduced in the United States . In 1985 the model “Samurai” is the first car in the United States released under the Suzuki brand. In 1987 , Suzuki exports its models to the U.S. under the brand created by Geo GM to compete with foreign brands. Suzuki sells officially sold in North America and GM Geo (Metro (Swift), Tracker (Sidekick / Vitara / Escudo / Nomade) in the network of Chevrolet dealers in 1998 absorbing Chevrolet Geo, so the Metro and Tracker are sold under the Chevrolet. In the Andean countries of South America as Suzuki made and sold through GM Chevrolet Colmotores (Colombia) Sprint (Forsa / Cultus), Swift (3 / 5 door and 4 door Sedan HB), Esteem (Sedan and SW) Samurai (Hard Top, Soft Top and Soft Top Long Body) Jimny (Hard Top). GM Ecuador (Vitara 3 / 5 Door Hard Top, even XL7, Grand Vitara 3 / 5 Door Hard Top) and Venezuela (Swift Sedan). The difference with the Japanese versions were visible, and generating material in the case of the Samurai. In Argentina Argentina GM manufactured the Suzuki Grand Vitara and was exported to Brazil and Mexico as the Chevrolet Tracker. (In Mexico Canadian Tracker replacing discontinued. 2004 to 2007). Fabrica Ecuador is currently the first, second and third generation Vitara sold as Chevrolets. For the sake of merchandising and brand loyalty and identity (and “Suzuki Cultus” in Asia ). In 1995 , total production reached Suzuki over 975 000 cars. PUCH Suzuki bought in 1989.
