Ferrari 458
Ferrari brought out the Ferrari 458 Italia as the successor to the F430. It is powered by a 4,499 cc V8 engine that delivers a total of 570 HP at 9,000 rpm and a peak torque of 540 Nm at 6000 rpm. The engine delivers an outstanding power output of 127 HP/liter and 120 Nm/liter. All this while delivering only 307 g/km of CO2 and a fuel consumption of just 13.3 l/100 km. The engine is mated to a F1 dual-clutch gearbox and sprints the sports car from 0 to 60 mph in under 3.4 seconds while top speed goes up to an impressive 201 mph. With so many racing games inundating the market these days, run-of-the-mill racing wheels, let alone the standard controllers, just wouldn’t cut it anymore. From the minds that gave birth to the T500RS and the Ferrari Wireless GT Cockpit comes the latest in race gaming accessories. The 11" Ferrari 458 wheel features a rubberized grip that allows you stay firmly in control of your virtual race car while the built-in metal paddle shifters, a Manettino dial, and progressive resistance allows you to make all the necessary adjustments to ensure that your lap times aren’t ruined by the smallest of mistakes. The Ferrari 458 racing wheel is exclusive to the Xbox 360, which you can use for all your Forza 4 exploits. These games feature cutting-edge technology and you’re using a cheap wheel to play them? Not exactly realistic, is it?What you need is a racing wheel that will make the entire gaming experience all that more realistic. You need a wheel that will make you feel like you’re really driving those virtual cars. You need a wheel like the new Thrustmaster Ferrari 458 Italia Racing Wheel.
As far as PS3 and PC gamers are concerned, you’re not left out in the dark. Thrustmaster will also be releasing the TH8 RS gear shifter, which you can connect to the aforementioned T500RS, allowing you to configure your gearbox set-up with either H-pattern or sequential configurations.
The guys from Underground Racing really do have some fantastic projects coming out of their North Carolina-based firm and their latest tuning project will surely match up to the newly-formed high expectations for the twin-turbo loving tuners. Most recently known for the lavish twin-turbo kits for the Lamborghini Gallardo and Murcielago, Underground Racing is in the process of slapping on another luscious turbo kit to a different kind of supercar: the Ferrari 458 Italia.
The accessories are dropping on shelves this October for the price of $180 for the Ferrari 458 wheel and $90 for the TH8 gear shifter. They won’t come cheap, but for the awesome experience, forking over those amounts will all be worth it in the end.Details on the kit have not surfaced yet, but Underground Racing has provided these teaser images as a carrot-dangling attempt to lead us to their finishline. And it most definitely worked. The Ferrari 458 Italia by Underground Racing will no doubt feature over 1000hp, since most of their other tuning projects boast of the same type of power, and will mean a horsepower amount that will almost double that of the standard 570hp. Not bad for a vehicle that Underground Racing readily admits is already fabulous in its own right.
"Even though we were extremely impressed with the handling and all the other cool features of the Ferrari 458, we knew there was something missing. So it was then time for the Underground Racing team to design a Ferrari 458 Twin Turbo system. As the pictures show, this is what we came up with. We will have a Twin Turbo system with a stock engine as Stage 1. The built engine with Twin Turbo system will be stage 2."It’s been months since we heard anything about Underground Racing’s Twin Turbo Ferrari 458 Italia, but the tuning firm has just laid out a new video showing what the sports car can do when equipped with the Twin Turbo Stage 1 package. This upgrade will leave owners with an impressive 700 rear-wheel horsepower on pump 93 octane fuel. Don’t worry, a 1,000 HP model will follow!Still on the fence about the greatness Underground Racing bestows? Check out the video after the jump to see every inch of the Ferrari 458 Italia as it whips down the street!Hit the jump to check out the basic components for a typical Underground Racing twin-turbo system.
